Christmas Traditions

Last Christmas, traditions seemed overwhelming and confusing since my husband and I, together, share quite a few.

My cousin promptly gifted the Elf on the Shelf to get us started. Have you heard of this spunky little guy who magically appears each day in a new spot of the house to keep watch for Santa on who’s been naughty and who’s been nice?

The look of awe on ev’s face when she spotted Elf the first night was priceless.

This morning she woke up and found him nestled between his neIMG_1872w friends, the snowman family. Elf has become quite the topic of conversation, and ev’s papa has become so fond of this tradition, I find him hiding the elf in a new place each night, strategically arranging him to watch over the breakfast table or even to hold one of ev’s small toys!

I have an inkling that the Elf tradition will be one of ours for good!

  1. My friend’s children had an elf checking on them last year, and they almost lost it when the elf found them at grandma’s house. Lots of fun for the whole family 🙂
